A week before our 50th anniversary celebration Carolyn tore her achilles tendon. In addition to the activities involving planning for the weekend we had to squeeze in doctor's visits and Carolyn had to have surgery. I was supposed to provide the boys with notes for a speech but that never happened...so here I am. (These photographs were shown in order and the captions follow the remarks I made the night of our 50th anniversary party- June 14 2014) .
Memories. This is the recurring thought that I had while gathering the images of a half-century. Memories of dating, marriage, births of children and our travels; memories of milestones in their lives, their marriages and of their children. How would I put them into words? This evening is about memories. We all have them, both happy and sad. As in life things and circumstances change. We wish everything would remain the same but they often don't. Relationships change, and that's unfortunate, but that's the way it is. Nevertheless we all shared life's happy moments. Let's celebrate our joyful memories now.
